BELOW IS AN OUTLINE OF MY EXPERIENCE AT THE OLG.
I had most recently been working on PlayOLG.ca at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG). PlayOLG is the Ontario Government’s first foray into online gambling:
PlayOLG is the home of online casino games, blackjack, roulette, baccarat and slots in Ontario. It’s the only regulated online gambling site in the province. Customers can also purchase national lottery products such as LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/69 online.
In over a year, I had contributed to the launch of this new line of business at the OLG. I had been directly responsible for the creation, execution and management of a multi-million dollar digital launch strategy, which included:
- Competitor benchmarking and analysis;
- Search Engine Marketing across Google, Yahoo and Bing;
- Search Engine Optimization of the portal;
- Display Advertising and Affiliate Marketing;
- Social Media Advertising;
- Acting as an evangelist for digital marketing across the organization.
I also participated in the development of the gaming portal itself, having conducted extensive French-language user acceptance testing, and the on-boarding of a Web Analytics platform.
My time at PlayOLG has allowed me to utilize a blend of experiences across digital marketing in both the startup and large corporation format. PlayOLG is a separate division of the OLG, and acts as somewhat of a startup within a large Governmental organization. Add to that a technology-based partnership with a private-sector multi-national corporation, and you have one of the most complex business relationships to exist in the marketplace today. I have certainly been able to add this experience to my broad skill-set, as it is something I can leverage through the rest of my career.
